“I unfortunately do not know the quality difference between the first edition and the second edition. In addition I will probably take myself much time for the assembly. The box is still not opened.”

“There are two ways you can build this model. Stick it together and then enjoy or go to the extraordinary lengths some modellers go to for that authentic look. This model has been covered for the last few years by Trekworks. Check them out on the you tube. You can and I have purchased the extra Lighting kits and the brass etched kit from the US in order to complete this model. More money but if your up to the challenge it is so worth it. This takes nothing away from this model however and will look equally good with as a display model but it is huge. The saicer is approx. 17" wide and the entire model is 37" long. Take your time and look up some of the techniques used. It's worth it.”
