“This really is a a colourful flock, but a strong (if realistic) colour so use sparingly.
At n-gauge you could create great rafts of heather with it, but in 00 it's better suited to modelling heavily grazed heather as it is quite fine. I used little patches in amongst 'coarse pasture' and this gave an 'overgrazed' look.
On one area of my layout, I put lots of little lumps of sponge to represent old heather plants about 2-3 foot tall. I covered the spaces in between with various flocks, mostly coarse pasture, then hit all the sponge with the heather mix. Looks good, but I could do with some bright yellow to add some gorse bushes!”
