After searching online for an upgrade from my previous printer, and looking at online reviews I settled on the ip8750. The results are superb, set up was really simple, and A3+ prints stunning. It’s also a lot more economical than I expected. Service and cost from Wilkinson Cameras was excellent and I’d buy from them again without hesitation.

To date I have not tried to print A3 size prints, I have tried just about everything else. Everything has printed without a problem. Photo's are good with a crisp look and the usual good strong canon colours. The printer came with a full set of ink cartridges, these are the normal rather than the XL cartridges but they are not the starter sets included with many printers. DVD printing is simple and good. Printing on a variety of canon papers was excellent. The included profiles were fine. I have even tried about half a dozen other papers and all worked fine, considering I had not created icc profiles for the set up. I will be doing this over the coming weeks. I have only used Canon ink as I have always found it best in the past. As this was the main purpose for the printer it is perfect for me. While it does not produce the stunning dynamic range that the professional canon printers do it is so close that my aged eyes tend not to notice the difference without very close examination. I run Linux on all my systems and the available driver was easy to find and install on my fedora systems. I tried an Ubuntu installation and that woked again without issues. I prefer to use the Turboprint driver (see http://www.turboprint.info/) with the Gimp for borderless prints. While this is not free software makes printing borderless prints a cinch and DVDs are printed without too much trouble. Upgrading to Turboprint Studio allows me to use my own icc profiles and other additions. Well worth it for the photographer who is interested in better prints. For all others uses the canon drivers are very good, the problems with borderless prints are due to limitations in the Linux print set up rather than the canon drivers. And I have tried the canon app on my android phone. It works well producing good prints in no time. I would expect the i-Phone app to be just as easy.
