Small and lightweight telephoto zoom lens for Sony full-frame E-mount mirrorless cameras
Tamron uses a special design for mirrorless cameras and has achieved a compact size by moving the aperture up to F/6.3 to the telephoto range, allowing the maximum diameter to be limited to 77mm. The 70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD is the world's smallest and lightest telephoto zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras. Compatible with Sony's popular E-mount cameras, the lens was developed from the concept of enabling photographers to make the universe of 300mm telephoto zoom photography easier.
Compact size ensures maximum mobility
Enjoy high-resolution images combined with the stunning bokeh qualities that can only be achieved with a telephoto lens. The Tamron 70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD is a versatile lens for shooting landscapes, sports and other action, pets, wildlife and more. The lens also demonstrates the potential for portrait photography, casual snapshots and scenarios where you need to be mobile if you need to shoot out of hand. Zooming in on distant objects and bringing them closer is one of the joys of telephoto shots.
High quality images and perfect handling
All photographers, from beginners to experienced enthusiasts looking for a compact, lightweight telephoto zoom, can comfortably enjoy the benefits of a powerful, versatile zoom without worrying about size or weight thanks to the Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6/3 Di III RXD lens. If you're shooting with in-camera image stabilisation or using a tripod, you can reduce the weight of your equipment with this lens. In addition, the 70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD maintains a good balance even when used with APS-C E-mount cameras that are smaller than full-frame cameras (e.g. a Sony α6500), so that you can enjoy shooting with an even "longer" telephoto zoom with an equivalent telephoto zoom range of approx. 450mm!
Superior AF keeps it sharp and still
The AF drive includes a sensor that accurately detects the position of the lens, while the Tamron RXD motor unit provides optimised AF control. This ensures fast and accurate autofocus operation and allows you to focus on continuously moving subjects captured in telephoto zoom mode. The ultra-quiet AF allows the lens to be used discreetly in concert halls and other low-noise situations, including video recordings.
Moisture-Resistant Construction for added protection
This lens has moisture resistant construction: seals are located at the lens mount area and other critical locations to deter infiltration of moisture and/or rain drops. This feature provides an additional layer of protection when shooting outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
Compatible with camera-specific features and functions
The Tamron 70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD lens is compatible with many of the advanced features that are specific to certain mirrorless cameras including:
Fast Hybrid AF
Eye AF
Direct Manual Focus (DMF)
In-camera lens correction (shading, chromatic aberration, distortion)
Camera-based lens unit firmware updates

Pleasantly surprised by the image quality and capability of this lens. It's a budget product so my standards were not set too high, I need not have had concerns. I've bought Tamron lenses before and they've always been great. I'm not sponsored by Tamron or Wilkinsons, this is an honest review of a lens I purchased myself.
