Making The Change To LED
There are so many advantages to using LED lighting. Chief among these are the money saving benefits. LEDs have outstanding life spans, lasting twice as long as fluorescent bulbs and up to 20 times longer than incandescent bulbs. For you, this means buying less bulbs, but it doesn’t stop there.
LEDs also use considerably less energy than traditional bulbs. They are up to 10 times less power thirsty than an equivalent brightness incandescent, making them green in an age where everything needs to be environmentally friendly.
There is also a choice of colour temperature when purchasing LEDs. Bulbs are available in either warm white (3000K) or cool white (6000K) options.
The difference is simply the perceived warmth of the colour of the light. Warm white is very close to the light given off by traditional incandescent bulbs, helping create a cosy atmosphere like you’d find in a living room. Cool white however provides a brighter more penetrative light, ideal for more clinical areas such as the kitchen.
