With a power consumption of 3.3 Watts, the non-dimmable 80SMD GU10 LED bulbs will swap straight over from your existing halogen GU10s. Similar LED lights are filled under the GU10 spotlights range. Over there you can find both dimmable and non-dimmable.
What Makes It Right For You
Every 3.3W GU10 bulb comes with 80 separate high power 3528 Surface Mounted LEDs, providing a high brightness level with a milky cover to it making it the perfect replacement for any 50W GU10.
The output on the 80SMD is 400 Lumens, which is accompanied with a 120° beam angle has 3 variations of colour available. Like all of our GU10s the 80SMD comes in Warm White (3000K) which is a soft white, similar to the colour that you would get on an old style halogen GU10. It also comes in a Cool White (6000K) which is a clear, crisp white, generally used in offices and other working environments.
Alongside our 27SMD and 7W COB , this GU10 bulb is available in Daylight (4000K) which is a middle ground colour between the Warm White and Cool White, generally this is used in kitchens, sometimes bathrooms and it can also be used in office spaces. If you are still unsure of the colour that you would need, then please reference our guide on the best colour per application.
Savings Made Over 50,000 hours
Our GU10 LEDs use between 85% and 90% less energy than traditional halogen spotlights, running from 2.5W up to 9W.
Along with this reduced power usage, you will experience up to a 50 times longer lifespan. Both of these combined, mean you will be making large savings over a long time period, being the most cost effective solution for your lighting.

Ordered two bulbs on 7th January, not dispatched until 20th January. No explanation provided. I chose this company because of their claims regarding swift dispatch and delivery time. Will not use again due to lack of communication and appalling delay on dispatch. Emailed company to request an explanation prior to giving negative feedback but they have not bothered to respond.

Since I first bought some of these a few years ago, they have become cheaper and brighter. Just what was needed for our new kitchen.

Ordered two LED lamps and paid for them online. Received a call two days later to be told that the lamps were out of stock. Had to wait two weeks for delivery. I should have been told at the time of ordering that the lamps were out of stock not by a phone call. Phone call offered a different shade of light but refused it. Lamps did arrive as ordered two weeks later.

I've been upset by some led lights that seem to massively underperformed against expectation. Buying led bulbs is complex and risky. These have done a good job now for several months of quite heavy use 6-10 hours per day in an officesituation. A good purchase.

I bought a property that had been equipped with a total of seventeen GU10 and four MR16 light fittings; all running 50W halogen lamps. Obviously, these were costly to run and also produced a fair bit of heat. So my plan was to replace all of the lamps with GU10 LED units and save on electricity. For the four MR16 light units, I obtained some GU10 lamp holders with tails that could be wired in place of the existing lamp holders and in-line transformers, so this was a straightforward conversion. I chose the Mirrorstone 80 SMD 3.3W GU10 LED lamps partly because I wanted an equivalent light output to the 50W halogen lamps they were replacing. A number of different LED units achieve this, but I noticed that the Mirrorstone LEDs appear to be more efficient than the others I looked at, which were specified at around 400 Lumens (or sometimes rather less) for a power consumption of around 5W. However, another characteristic of the Mirrorstone LEDs that caught my eye was the 120 degree beam angle, which is significantly wider than halogen lamps and most other LED lamps. This feature is beneficial if you want a wider spread of light rather than a more concentrated beam, particularly if the light unit is fitted at a reduced height above a work surface (such as beneath a kitchen unit above a work surface). Also, the Mirrorstone lamps were competitively priced. I'm not particularly keen on cool blue light in living spaces and so opted for warm white LEDs, which are probably as close as one can get in colour temperature to the halogen lamps. However, these LED units are also available cool white. On researching the dimming of LEDs, I discovered two important points. Firstly that if you want to be able to dim your lights, you need dimmable LEDs. Secondly that you also need a dimmer unit that's compatible with LED lamps. Six of my GU10 halogen lights were in the living room and controlled by a triac dimmer. I wasn't ready to replace this yet and so will be tackling the conversion of these lights another time. Out of the non-dimming light units that I wanted to convert, there were essentially two different types with regard to the means of lamp retention. One type, which featured a bayonet locking retaining ring, was straightforward. I simply swapped out the halogen lamp for the new LED unit. However, the other type, which employ a wire clip, are unfortunately incompatible with these particular LED lamps. The reason is that the profile of the back of the lamp isn't quite the same as that of the halogen type. For example, immediately behind the flange at the front of the lamp unit (which is 50mm in diameter, as per the halogen variety), the diameter of the lamp body is greater than that of the halogen type (48mm rather than 47mm). This prevents the LED lamp from sitting far enough into the light unit for the spring retaining clip to be located into its recess, and so the lamp cannot be retained. This problem is exacerbated by the flange at the front face of the LED lamp being slightly thicker than that of the halogen lamp (2.8mm rather than 2mm). So I'm still working out how to overcome the lamp retaining issue, which affects six of my GU10 light fittings, and it's worth noting that due to such tiny differences in certain dimensions, changing your existing halogen lamps for LEDs may not be as straightforward as it ought to be! Otherwise, I'm pleased with the successfully converted lights and will be interested to see how well they perform over time; particularly with regard to the anticipated drop-off in light output, which I understand LEDs are subject to.
