With a neutral white coloured finish, this Diecast Fire Rated Short Can GU10 Downlight with tilt capability is a great choice to go with pretty much anywhere in the house, from the living room to the bedroom. Requiring a 90mm hole to be cut for use, the short can is the best option for if your space is limited. Similar products can be found in our short can GU10 fittings range. Compatible with all our GU10 LED bulbs, this Mirrorstone product comes fire rated, and is definitely one of our safer GU10 downlights. When the hole is cut in the wall or ceiling, there are almost always tiny gaps between the hole and the edge of the downlight, allowing air and heat to pass through in the event of a fire. Fire rated downlights however are made from intumescent material, and swell up when exposed to heat, therefore closing the gaps left by the hole and making it air tight. This prevents any fire from spreading floor to floor, and is good for approximately 90 minutes – more than enough time for you to safely evacuate your home and call emergency fire services to extinguish the blaze before substantial damage can happen. Fire rated products typically cost more than those that are non fire rated, but the price of safety is something that cannot really be named, and it is always worth spending that little bit extra to ensure the wellbeing of your family. Introducing NeoTec The NeoTec line has been fully updated to deliver the absolute best that a downlight can be. With such a sturdy design, these fire rated materials have been streamlined to provide better fire protection, with a stylish appearance that looks great. The design has been revamped to include better heat dissipation, increasing the lifespan of your bulb. Exploring Your Options Whilst fire rating comes as standard, you do have the luxury of choosing what kind of light you want from your GU10 downlight. One of the main options you’ll have is a choice of colour temperature, with warm white (3000K) and cool white (6000K) available to you. The difference is simple – it is just the perceived warmth of the light given off. Warm white, as its name suggests, is good for creating a homely atmosphere, which is what most people tend to go for in their bedroom or living room. Cool white however produces a brighter light that is better for spotlighting or accenting. We feel it’s better suited for commercial areas such as showrooms, or areas requiring concentration like the kitchen or office. The other option is whether you would like dimmable light or not, though you would also need a trailing edge dimmer for this. Moving Forward With LEDs The advantages of LED might not be clear to all, but there are a multitude of reasons as to why you should seriously consider switching. LEDs operate at much lower temperatures than incandescent bulbs due to their higher efficiency – they convert a much larger percentage of their energy to light (up to ten times more) than...

Nice unit but the push in mains connector is a bit poor, it doesn't give you much confidence that a good connection has been made. What was wrong with screw terminals.

Well made lights. Put them in to replace old 12v halogen downlights.. Easy to install and look great.
