With its modern styling and fashionably understated satin chrome bezel, this tiltable, fire-rated downlight from Mirrorstone Lighting™ will grace any ceiling with its presence. This light fitting is compatible with our bestselling 5 Star-rated GU10 LED bulbs, and, okay, they’ll cost you slightly more initially than conventional bulbs, but they’ll also last a heck of a lot longer, needing significantly less electricity to produce the same Lumens of brilliance. These long-term financial savings are obviously going to be an important factor when you’re deciding whether to switch to LED lighting for your home, however, there are many others. The fact that LED technology also has a significantly reduced impact on our environment might also be near the top of your list. Safety First! Recessed light fittings such as this and scores of other similar products are becoming ever more popular in people’s homes. This is because they’re discreet and have a modern, minimalist look that’s de rigueur right now. But how safe are your light fittings, really? If you’re not sure of the answer to this question, the chances are that yours aren’t fire-rated. Fire-rated light fittings will guarantee you an extra 90 minutes of light, which is crucial time for you and your loved ones to evacuate the building, in the event of the unthinkable occurring. The Choice Is Yours! GU10 light bulbs are manufactured to produce two distinctive light colour temperatures, so you’ll need to decide whether the Warm (6000K) or the Cool White (3000K) alternative is the right colour to match your requirements. The ambience you create in each room will, to a large extent, depend upon which lighting temperature you opt to use. Generally speaking, people tend to select the Warm White for living areas such as the lounge or their bedroom, whereas the Cool White is a popular option for bathrooms and kitchens, but hey, it’s up to you! Not many people choose to have just one LED downlight. They usually prefer the effect that a number of them create. But, how many to have? This is another exciting choice for you to contemplate! Unusable because cannot fit into ceiling hole with clip provided. If you try to flatten the clip as described in the instructions the metal slot bends and the clip comes out. Unsure if a design flaw or faulty batch of items. Repeated attempts to get advice from Wled failed to get promised return calls.

The lights and bulbs are good value and of good build quality. The webs site for these lights indicates that a 70mm hole should be drilled to instal the light into the ceiling. After drilling the holes and trying to insert a light into the 70mm hole it was clear it was not going to fit. Further investigation and checking the details that came with the light fitting indicated that the holes should have been drilled at 75mm. After contacting the supplier and informing them of this anomaly i was disappointed with their response and i still have had no feedback from them. So the learning curve hear is do not trust the sizes on the website and wait until you have the light fittings to check the hole size before drilling holes. Mr H Hay
