When buying for your home, you want something that’s as functional as it is safe. That’s where our Black Chrome Fire Rated GU10 Downlight comes in. A GU10 base ensures compatibility with all our GU10 spotlights, with the diecast black chrome finish providing a no nonsense solution to your spotlight fittings. As it is a Mirrorstone solution, you know you’re getting a quality product from an industry leader in LED lighting. The 65mm cutting hole required for use means it uses relatively little room, and isn’t obtrusive to the decor of your room of choice. On selected products, you can save money by checking out our discount and promotional offers, with up to 20% off at various points throughout the year. Introducing NeoTec The NeoTec line has been fully updated to deliver the absolute best that a downlight can be. With such a sturdy design, these fire rated materials have been streamlined to provide better fire protection, with a stylish appearance that looks great. The design has been revamped to include better heat dissipation, increasing the lifespan of your bulb. Put Safety First In most houses, the ceiling provides the barrier that prevents fires from spreading floor to floor. As this LED downlight requires a hole cut in the ceiling, this compromises the integrity of the ceiling, effectively punching a hole in this barrier. In any other case, there would be tiny gaps between the hole and the edge of the downlight, allowing air and heat to pass through in the event of a fire. This fixed downlight is fire rated though, meaning that the downlight is made from an intumescent material that swells as it gets hotter – filling the gaps in the hole becoming air tight. This protection will last for approximately 90 minutes – which is more than enough time for you to safely evacuate your property and for emergency fire services to extinguish the blaze. Generally, fire rated products cost a little bit more than standard downlights, but the extra money is worth paying when the safety of you and your family is concerned. Customisable Just For You There are a couple of bits you can change to perfect your fire rated downlight for what you need. You can opt to have dimmable bulbs with your downlight, though this will also require a trailing edge dimmer. Leading edge dimmers can’t be guaranteed to work, and may even damage your LED bulbs. The other option you have is a choice of 2 colour temperatures – warm white (3000K) or cool white (6000K). The difference is simply the perceived warmth of the light. Warm light is best for cosy environments such as the living room or bedroom. It closely replicates the kind of light given off by traditional incandescent bulbs. Cool white is much better suited to rooms that need to be well lit, such as the kitchen or office. This is because of its brighter and more penetrative light. Finishing The Package Of course, a fire rated downlight isn’t much use to anyone without an accompanying spotlight. As mentioned before, like all of the GU10 downlights that we stock, this fitting is compatible with all our GU10 spotlights, giving you a plethora of choices. Apart from this item, we have a huge selection of fixed or tilt fire rated downlights,

Very good quality, much better than others I've encountered which are similarly priced. Personally I think a 65mm hole cut out is too tight to allow for the connector block, rivets and butterfly springs to pass through the hole without damage, especially in older lath & plaster ceilings. I almost destroyed the springs when they caught on the laths so it took two of us to get the lights through the holes (1 pushing up from below & myself up in the attic making sure the springs weren't getting caught).
