LEDs In The Bathroom
When it comes to installing lights into your bathroom, it is crucial that you purchase a fitting that is IP rated. ‘IP’ stands for ‘Ingress Protection’ and is followed by two digits. The first signifies how well shielded the light is against small foreign objects including dust. The second is then an indication of how water resistant the fitting is. At a minimum, IP44 is recommended for the bathroom.
Colour temperature should also be taken into account when brightening your washroom. Typically, cool white (6000K) is used here as it will aid in task lighting. This will increase your concentration, and gives a cleaner, icier light.
Warm white (3000K), on the other hand, is a much softer light typically found in cosier areas of the home. This is why it isn’t often used within a bathroom.
