It’s a modern and stylish, titling light that boasts a cool die-cast aluminium finish. It comes as a complete unit, so you won’t need to worry about having to buy separate, compatible bulb and fitting, as the bulb is already fitted for you! The LED Driver is also included in the pack, as standard. Its quite narrow and directed 45° beam is eminently functional for both accent and feature lighting applications. Like most of our high power LED downlights, this is available in dimmable and non-dimmable options. It is important to remember that the dimmable one is compatible only with trailing edge LED dimmer switches. It should not be used in conjunction with traditional leading edge dimmers, because the combination won’t function correctly. Introducing ReadyLED The ReadyLED range of downlights has had a new facelift, with efficiency being the focus. They have a new heat sink, with higher quality materials being used to dissipate heat at a quicker rate than ever before. Colourful Language This downlight is available in two distinct colour temperatures, each suited to a particular environment or application in your home or business. The Warm White (3000K) temperature is often chosen for its suitability for living areas such as the lounge or bedroom, whereas Cool White (6000K) is more regularly used in work spaces, like the office or the kitchen. Downlights are very rarely used in isolation, so it’s a good idea if you decide on how many you’re going to require to illuminate your room, prior to placing your order. Why Should You Switch From Conventional Lighting To LED? If every great reason for replacing your conventional lights with LEDs were to be included here, there’d be no room on this page for any other information! Suffice to say that there are many, including the fact that LED bulbs are substantially more energy-efficient, leave a minimal carbon footprint and represent considerable health benefits, in comparison to halogen lights. The 1000 Lumens of light produced by this all-in-one unit are achieved using only 12W of electricity, compared to the 80W required by traditional bulbs. Obviously, less power equates to a reduction in energy expenditure that should begin to be reflected fairly quickly in your electricity bill. As most of our electricity is generated by the burning of Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)-producing fossil fuels, you can see that there is a direct, positive correlation between more energy-efficient lighting and the environment. Traditional lighting sources such as halogen use harmful Mercury vapour to produce equally unsafe UV Rays, but this combination LED downlight employs 12 x 1W Surface-Mounted Diodes (SMD) for its light, making it a much safer and healthier choice for you.
