It installs directly onto any flat surface, such a concrete or plasterboard. It’s supplied with all fittings and brackets, even including a transformer too. The only thing you need to worry about it connecting to mains power, thanks to the 85-265V input. The 40mm depth allows you to hide the transformer behind the panel itself. Once everything is in place, the 12W of energy help power a massive 920 lumens of light – an equivalent non-LED light would use 80W to deliver the same level of brightness. The quality of light is great too, as it has a colour rendering index (CRI) of 80 – so objects appear really close to their true colours, as if they were under natural light. The first is the colour that it emits, and you have 3 options – the first 2 being warm white (3000K) and cool white (6000K). The only difference between them is the perceived warmth of the light given off. Warm white as its name suggests, gives off a very comforting kind of light, similar to the kind emitted by traditional halogens. This is perfect for the living room or bedroom. Cool white is brighter and icier than warm white, and is much better in places like the kitchen or office where it is important they remain well lit. The third colour choice is triple white cycle. This switches between warm white, cool white, and day light (4000K) every time the light is switched back on again. Day light is a middle ground between the previous 2 colour temperatures, combining the comfort of warm with the brightness of the cool. The other option you’ll have is whether you want dimmable LEDs in it. This allows you to alter the brightness and create different moods. Please be aware though that dimmable LEDs require a trailing edge dimmer, as conventional leading edge dimmers might not work and could damage the bulbs.
