I recently accompanied my nan to purchase a mobility scooter and Kelly suggested the pride apex, my nan loves the scooter and has said how comfortable and easy to use it is, Kelly was also amazing help and made the whole experience a pleasure from start to finish.

A well designed boot scooter. Very quick and easy to assemble or disassemble the 5 pieces. In motion it is very stable and has sufficient power to climb sloping footpaths without undue problem.

I purchased the Pride Apex Rapid. Great little scooter. Goes into the car with ease. I take my scooter on holidays abroad and it gives me the freedom to enjoy my holidays with my family.

A boot scooter will always have a certain limit with what it can do but with this in mind the pride apex rapid does exactly what I would need it to do. It's comfortable and easy to manoeuvre has good battery charge and feels sturdy. It fits neatly into the boot of my kia ceed which a fold up wheelchair did not. It's quite heavy and I do still need help to get it in and out of the boot but once set up I'm able to manage by myself and in fairness I think any scooter will be heavy to some degree, I know this one is certainly not the heaviest. If I were buying another scooter I would definitely buy this model again.

The apex scooter is an extremely comfortable ride that due to it’s suspension copes well with the bumps in pavements & going up & down most dropped kerbs. The steering is easy to turn & can be adjusted for comfort, which is great. I soon got used to the controls, having a front light proved useful one evening when I stayed out longer than I expected to! My carers find it easy to assemble & unassemble to put in the car. I opted to have the larger battery, which in hindsight I probably don’t need. My reasons for not giving 5 stars? The battery pack can be really tricky to correctly place, if not in exactly the right place it will come out as you are going along. I opted to have the crutch holder which I believe wheel freedom make themselves. This is really awkward to use & can be dangerous in shops as the crutches stick out, meaning you can knock people & displays with them. I’ve also had the Velcro on it completely fail when I’ve been out on my own, which for me means I am unable to pick them up until I find a passerby. Overall, the most comfortable boot scooter I have ridden, easy to use & not too heavy for carers to lift.

Very good ride and speed. Good maneuverability. Dismantled really easily and goes into boot of our A3. Each bit quite heavy but manageable. Very good range

As this was my first scooter I decided to rent first to try it out but after a year I felt confident enough to buy it and got a good second hand deal from Wheelfreedom. I only use it to go out on short trips into the park or local shops but it changed my life by enabling me to go out by myself and giving me a level of independence that I wouldn't otherwise have. I don't think I'd find it easy to dismantle it and get it in and out of a car on a regular basis without help as the battery is quite heavy - not impossible to lift but not something I could manage too often as I suffer from a condition that makes me tire very easily. For what I need it for it's perfect, easy to manoeuvre, comfortable and quite nippy and I wouldn't be without it.
