252 Gasket for Disc Adapter The classic SILCA 25.1 gasket has been replaced after more than 20 years in the market. The new 252 gasket utilizes a high tech and very red, fully synthetic elastomer base material rather than a carbon black filled natural rubber of previous designs. This unique bright red gasket borrows from industries which require air-tight seals in the harshest of environments, and tests to a life expectancy of more than 5X the carbon filled rubber or Buna-N materials used previously. In tests with a major disc wheel manufacturer, the new SILCA CP1 Disc Wheel Adapter with 252 gasket literally blew away the field by posting a blow-off pressure of 393 psi where other designs were unable to reach 120psi. NOTE: Compatible with all prior SILCA disc adapter designs, however, the limited height in the adapter head will prevent the valve stem from fully engaging the gasket. Generally the 252 gasket in a CP1 will hold a minimum 120psi on any size or type of valve stem, while it will hold 70-80psi when used in older SILCA adapters. Fully Synthetic Elastomer Base Material 5X the durability of traditional rubber materials New Two-Stage sealing geometry optimized for all Presta valve stems Fits all prior SILCA disc wheel adapters (though at reduced max hands-free pressure) 242 Gasket for Presta Chucks The Iconic SILCA 24.1 gasket has been updated and improved after more than 30 years in the market. The new 242 gasket utilizes a high tech and very red, fully synthetic elastomer base material rather than a carbon black filled natural rubber of previous gaskets. This unique bright red gasket borrows from industries which require air-tight seals in the harshest of environments, and tests to a life expectancy of more than 5X the carbon filled rubber or Buna-N materials used previously. New Two-Stage seal geometry seals on both valve stem and at the base of valve core threads resulting in a more positive seal and improved durability. The new gasket slips onto the valve stem with a satisfying 'click', while unique internal geometry actually utilizes line air pressure to compress the gasket onto the valve stem: the higher you pump, the harder it grips the stem! This design is so iconic we've found more than 20 companies world-wide making pump heads and gaskets copied from this, but none of them can come close to the precision and technology in our new 242. Fully Synthetic Elastomer Base Material 5X the durability of traditional rubber materials New Two-Stage sealing geometry optimized for all Presta valve stems Pressure amplifying dome geometry uses air pressure to clamp valve stem Fits all prior SILCA Presta heads Made in USA

Keeps my old pump going. Absurdly expensive particularly now that a US company have taken over. Good to find a retailer with a complete range of stock.

As far as the actual product is concerned it is ideal, fits my Silca pump and has improved it's performance. However, given the item is the size of my thumbnail and worth £12 why was the delivery of it such a tiresome experience. I have a long-held dislike for DPD couriers for a number of reasons and again their performance was poor, because there was no one in they refused to deliver it and I had to specifically request that they put it through my letter box. Why they can't do that in the first place without filling my inbox with e-mails and my phone with text messages I don't know - worth looking at maybe?

Now that Silca Italiano is in the hands of the Yankies the washer is made of synthetic rubber in bright red. Installation is simple & it works fine but may allow the valve to blow off at higher pressures. As you needed to replace it you have probably grown a 3rd hand to keep it in position already. The delivery charge is excessive for such a small bit of rubber. Shame they didn't send me some Quorn to make it worth while.
