Genuine Cannondale Hollowgram spider lockring install/removal tool. This shop-quality tool is required to remove or install the lockring that keeps the spider securely fastened to the drive-side crankarm. Tool has both interfaces for a socket wrench (recommended) or a large adjustable wrench.

“FSA, Parktool, Leonardi and Cannondale seem to be the only manufacturers to offer this tool which has approx 47mm OD. I think Bosch first generation e-bike BB also need this tool. Westbrook delivered within the week and had the best prices on the net including auction houses. Tool is perfect for removal of the spidering, with either a 10mm or inset 6 point ring spanner drive. Prongs/teeth seem a bit small but torquing it up it's all in sheer so not an issue.”

“If you need to get the chainrings off a Cannonade right hand crank, this is the tool you need. A nice feature of this tool is that the hole in the middle fits a 3/8" square peg which is the same as many torque spanners. The torque you need to apply for this job is high, so I would not try to use something that is not intended for the job. Chances are you will break something or end up skinning your fingers.”

“There aren't too many tools on the market that can remove Cannondale spiders but this one is the best as well as pretty much the cheapest. The key here is the low profile which means it's a bit easier to keep it engaged when using a torque wrench; other tools I've used are taller and tend to slip out as you apply - however unintentionally - any amount of sideways force.”
