“After over 30 years of not playing, I decided to get back into it and join a community band. I needed an instrument, and tried a few other 'budget' horns from other online retailers that ended up being very poor quality and were promptly returned (poor tone, very thin metal, lousy piston action, etc.). I purchased the EP-100 euphonium in June of 2018, and have been actively playing it for the past year and a half. The Wessex EP100 is a sturdy horn. It has a solid feel, and a pleasant, dark timbre. Intonation is really good - I love playing a low B or low E perfectly in tune! My complaints about it are few, and mostly unimportant: minor imperfections on the finish, I did not like the included mouthpiece, and I wish the threading on the valve caps were a little deeper. But all things considered, the quality of the EP-100 horn, and the support from the Wessex team make it unbeatable at this price point.”
