It’s a beautiful horn with a great engraving and an even better sound and great tone it’s a great horn for those who need a compensating model but don’t want to break the bank the Wessex team was extremely helpful and after the horn shipped from the warehouse it arrived very quickly with no damage to the box or horn they supply you with spare valve guides and springs which are always great to have spare so you don’t need to order more if needed in a pinch overall this is a great intermediate compensating model and is great for anyone try to upgrade their sound without breaking the bank

All over great euphonium, wonderful value. We did have a little issue with having some sticky or gritty residue on the valve slides. We're having difficulty getting off.

I played euphonium through high school and into college. I was a dedicated player. I haven’t played in about 23 years, but my son is getting ready to start band in 6th grade and I don’t enjoy the idea of him playing a school horn. So I reached out to some band director contacts and found out about Wessex. I ordered the Dolce Euphonium. I was impressed with the fast delivery time. I’m located in the United States, and it only took a few days to arrive. I was eager to get started. I took out my strobe tuner and went through the entire range of this instrument and found that it plays in tune through the whole range. Is it the same as my old YEP-621S? No… but Wessex costs a fraction of those horns and still makes a quality model. I am honestly considering ordering the nicer model for me so I can play along with my son. He’s super excited to start his journey, and I don’t want to be fighting for horn access! Thanks for making a quality product for a reasonable price. I will be recommending you to any who ask.

I recently retired from the military band service as a conductor after over 27 years with only a little bit of time to focus on playing. Now that I've switched to teaching, I decided to purchase this beautiful instrument to get back into the thick of things as I teach my students and get back into regular performances. I knew that it was a stencil instrument having researched before buying, but now I'm questioning that. I've experienced playing some top-end euphoniums over the last 30 years and this Dolce was definitely one of the sweetest things (no pun intended) I'd ever had the privilege of playing and now proudly owning! It blows almost effortlessly throughout the entire instrument range while being very stable throughout, the intonation requires no additional trigger, it's well-balanced and not too heavy in the hands, it has smooth slides and quiet valves straight from the factory, the water gutter was attached already when I opened the case (purchased separately), and the customer service was so pleasing from the get-go. I should perhaps mention that shipping to the Caribbean was no issue at all - it took less than a week from purchase to collection, and in impeccable condition. Wessex has really outdone itself here with this gem! Please keep up the fantastic work!

We ordered this euphonium from the states for our 15 year old son who needed a compensating euphonium for his concert band. His instructor played a Wessex and recommended the brand. He loves it and it sounds wonderful. Thank you for making our Christmas magical!

Nice smooth sound but constantly having trouble threading the middle valve . It will thread incorrectly and then get stuck and be difficult to loosen and then restart the whole process again. It is maddening.

I'm pleased with my Dolce Euphonium. It has a nice sound, and I'm especially pleased with the quiet and quick valve action.
