Replacement Pedal Reviews

4.2 Rating 35 Reviews
Had to buy a replacement pedal a few years ago because last on broke. The replacement has now also broken so was about to buy another one but decided not to bother. Will just buy another brand of bin. It’s not good when you pay so much for a lovely, quality bin and it has a plastic pedal that breaks. Why don’t they make it in metal??

This is the third replacement pedal for the Wesco Kickboy 40L model that I've had to buy. I've given just one stars purely because at £20 per replacement pedal there is clearly a design fault which Wesco are aware of (judging by other reviews I have read) but are not prepared to address the issue. The pedal is made of cheap plastic and is fixed with two small screws so eventually after long use it will inevitably crack or break again. It should be made of sturdier longer lasting material and with better screw fixings. It's really quite a simple fix but I guess while they can keep selling replacemnts Wesco will leave them as is.

The pedal has proved impossible to click into place as there is insufficient curve on the receiving metal band, which is probably why the original pedal broke in the first place.

This fragile piece of plastic coats £22 and £4 to post allegedly. It’s the third time I’ve replaced it in 5 years and is a hidden exploitative cost of owning a Wesco bin. How can they justify those prices?

I have just bought the second replacement for the foot pedal for our Wesco bin. Works well, but they are made of plastic (rest of bin is metal) so have to be replaced every couple of years. Can we have a metal one please? It's annoying.

If this pedal was made of metal not plastic it would be far superior and far more durable. This is our third.

It took a little longer to attach the new pedal than previous times (this is fourth pedal in 12 years - bin gets a lot of use). It seemed like the space to slot it over the metal ring was narrower but it did go on eventually and screws went in fine. Took me 10 minutes to do. I just wish the pedals would last a little longer.
