“Took the joiner ages to put together he said he’d done hundreds of french doors and bi folds but never had one arrive in kit form! Difficult to align the locking mechanism and it feels very sticky”

We actively encourage all our customers to contact us should they come into any difficulty in assembling our doors. We take every opportunity to support customers and their chosen joiners with clear assembly instructions that can be found online and provided with the delivery package. We are very surprised to hear that the joiner you chose had some difficulty in following our instructions. In ten years of supplying French doors, all we seem to have got is praise from experienced and qualified joiners as well as competent DIYers on how simple, clear and easy our instructions are to follow. Indeed, our website has several reviews about the same set of doors which you purchased, and all are five stars, with 66% of them saying just how easy they or their fitter found them to assemble. Perhaps if the joiner had given our after-sales team a call at the time we could have made things easier for them and saved you any inconvenience. All our doors are provided in kit form, ready to be assembled with hinge rebates pre-cut and with locks being able to be located to the customer’s preference; customers generally welcome this flexibility. We provide all of the required fixings, right down to the correct drill bits so that everything is made as easy as possible for customers. As mentioned, we are very disappointed to hear of your joiners’ experience and are concerned about the reference to the doors now being “sticky” If you could get in touch with us directly, we will be more than happy to discuss the situation with you and see what we can do to help. “I have previously bought Vufold bifold doors and was disappointed to find that these French doors did not come supplied as the same height. My builder had to fabricate a timber filler strip to add to the top of the door frame to make up the extra 40mm. The build quality of the doors and the fixtures is good as I expected having already purchase from Vufold before. The incorrect sizing for a standard brickwork opening the same height as bi-fold doors form the same supplier is a big oversight.”

Thank you for your review and we are sorry that you have had an issue with the height of your Elite French doors. During the product development of our Elite / Master French doors, we set the height at the industry standard sizing at that particular time. (note The Ultra, Status and Supreme French doors have the same height as the bifold doors) However, on the product page, there is a specification table which shows both the brickwork opening height and the actual outer frame height. Other than this we are pleased to know that you are happy with the overall quality of your doors. Kind regards
