“Overall, I had a good experience there. I’ve met people from four different countries. Working with other volunteers to prepare food for animals and clean their enclosures were fun. The work was taught by other volunteers, so we all had responsibilities of our duties and we cooperated as a team. Apart from work, I enjoyed spending free time such as cooking and walking around the volunteer activity area with other volunteers.”

“It was really fun! The team leader was super nice and took us sightseeing after work each day. The work was good and I didn't struggle at all. Local coordinators were very friendly and supportive. The overall living experience was excellent. It was very comfortable and homely stay with all the facilities that I could have asked for. The work was good. It kept me busy throughout the day and I felt really accomplished after a days work. Sightseeing after work were the highlights of the program.”

“The Volunteering Solutions website was relatively easy to navigate and I enjoyed the personal profile made for me when I signed up. I find pre-departure booklet was very helpful. All of the staff was very helpful in providing information. I enjoyed making a difference. I felt it was worthwhile however I did not feel as though we were thoroughly appreciated throughout the experience. The accommodation and meals were good. The in-country support staff was okay. I honestly expected more enthusiasm. Conditions were not ideal and it would have been nice to get more from the staff throughout my time there. I liked seeing tree kangaroos in person and knowing I was making a significant contribution.”

“I like the layout of the website how simple it was to understand and pick where to go and what to do. Pre-departure booklet covered all areas thoroughly. Staff were good informative and helpful. My placement was amazing it showed me a side of Australia I wouldn't know about and I learnt things about the native and introduced species of animals/incests. I felt like I had helped the community and made a difference. Would do it again. Accommodation and meals were amazing. Bathroom could have been cleaner but otherwise it was fine. In-country Staff were very helpful and kind listened to what you had to ask/talk about. Meeting people from all over the world giving back to the community and making a difference was the highlight of my volunteering trip.”
