Opal White Frosted Film Reviews

Having used sticky back plastic so much I could be on blue peter I thought this would be an easy job to fit. Well I was wrong. No amount of single mum super powers was to get this sucker to fit on the window. Well actually if it had suckers that would have been grand but it didn't just "slip solution". You would think I would have been forewarned given that the name gives it away, but in case like me you are not aware, when you use this, the film slips. Like super slips. You put it in place move along the window and it slips, you put it back on and move and it slips. You end up trying to creep away ninja style so the film doesn't see you move but still it slips. Trying to pull off 2m backing with it slipping off the window is hard. What is harder is when you take it off to turn it around no longer does it slip... it then sticks. But it doesn't stick to the window, it still slips on that, it sticks on EVERYTHING else. It sticks together to itself, and to you and especially hair. It grabs your hair in and pulls it out like hot wax. Then when you eventually turn it around there are creases. Okay you get the creases out and shed a few tears as the film is effectively ruined but you crack on because you can't afford another one. The smoothing out bit is actually kind of satisfying and occasionally makes a delightful pop when the air bubble is squeezed out the end. But beware of all that hair that is now stuck inside the film because you have to get each one out and as you do the film will again slip but the hair will stick. Then, hopefully this won't happen to you, when you get to the end and you realise you measured wrong and the film is actually short. Then you cry some more thst the film is ruined and you wasted all thst effort on something that doesn't fit. So lessons learnt: 1) measure twice before you order, 2) attempts to stick the cut offs in the gap don't really work, 3) ask for help, 4) tie long hair back, tie any hair back even if bald keep your head away from the sticky side, 5) be aware that it slips and make sure that you are prepared. Someone holding this would work. If like me you have no one or just a small child who can't reach and is more interested in popping bubbles then masking tape also helps hold it in place a bit. Good luck be brave and keep it away from hair.

Got this to put on the windows of the store room in my old house so that my wares aren’t on show for the whole village to see. Easy to apply and let’s enough light through whilst keeping the room private
