Coconut Halves Reviews

Filled with a suet-based fat mix which also includes seeds, Coconut Halves were the first product of this type to come onto the market many years ago, and well ahead of fat balls, blocks and pellets. In some ways, the early arrival of the Coconut Half product onto the market was ahead of its time, as its obvious use of a waste product – so the shell of a coconut – would now be seen as a very environmentally-friendly solution.

The birds most likely to feed on the calorie-rich suet-based fat mix are blue tits, great tits, long-tailed tits, coal tits, nuthatches (if you’re lucky enough to have them in your area), starlings and great-spotted-woodpecker.

Our Coconut Halves come complete with a string already attached to them, so can be easily hung from a branch or from a bird feeder station.

The birds have been visiting my feeders much more since I put up the new Coconut Halves. There are sparrow nests under my eaves and also a bluetit nest nearby. I see the birds flying away with beaks full of suet and mealworms.

My first disappointment as a regular customer!Too many of the coconuts were not properly threaded for hanging.Have spent ages digging out the strings to enable hanging. The birds love the fat but thats no good if I cant hang them out!

Our garden birds like these. I went to Vine House last year because the birds would not eat some of the ones I bought locally, not even when I mixed them with others. In the boxes of thirty they are good value.
