Coconut Halves Reviews

4.7 Rating 183 Reviews
Read Vine House Farm Reviews

Filled with a suet-based fat mix which also includes seeds, Coconut Halves were the first product of this type to come onto the market many years ago, and well ahead of fat balls, blocks and pellets. In some ways, the early arrival of the Coconut Half product onto the market was ahead of its time, as its obvious use of a waste product – so the shell of a coconut – would now be seen as a very environmentally-friendly solution.

The birds most likely to feed on the calorie-rich suet-based fat mix are blue tits, great tits, long-tailed tits, coal tits, nuthatches (if you’re lucky enough to have them in your area), starlings and great-spotted-woodpecker.

Our Coconut Halves come complete with a string already attached to them, so can be easily hung from a branch or from a bird feeder station.

The birds love them which is the most important thing. Some of the twine loops are very small which can make it difficult to hang them up though.

Excellent product, lots of birds love them, we even get adult and young greater-spotted woodpeckers on them . They are easy to hang and do last well even with a flock of assorted tits visiting them. As always the service was super fast and efficient.

I was buying them locally, but I had four with a slightly different coloured fat content and none of the birds will eat it. They are going through the Vine House ones very quickly. 3 species of Tits , Robins, Blackbirds, Starlings and the occasional great Spotted Woodpecker.
