Mini Mealworms-6 x 40g Reviews

3.9 Rating 23 Reviews
Wrong items delivered at first (and delayed in post so mostly dead on arrival) but mistake rectified speedily and second batch arrived next morning all in perfect condition. Enormous amount of interest by robins and blackbirds who took as many as were offered. Dunnocks also quite keen on them. The normal hungry hoard of woodpigeons not interested at all, of course, which was an added bonus

Oh dear. I've been ordering bird food products from Vine House for many years, including live mealworms, but these ones in tubs arrived dead and had to be thrown away - as attracting flies and the birds seemed to avoid them. I meant to call, and am glad to have the opportunity to report on the disappointment. The first I've experienced in my many orders over a long time as a loyal customer.

Within a few days of receiving my order the mealworms in 4 of the tubs had perished despite being kept as described in the accompanying leaflet. I was given a refund so have no real complaint.

These were nearly dead but I managed to revive them. The ones before i.e. 12 boxes were 90% dead. When they are looked after they are good. All the way though this Covid 19 they have been arriving within two days but now for some reason it is five days! Just an excuse!

The blackbirds and robin in my garden loved them. I think I chose to feed them at the optimum time because the second lot hung around a little bit and I did have to feed the mealworms with the bran to keep them healthy. Sparrows also thought they were great.

The birds loved them. Being in town it seemed to be the blackbirds and the sparrows in competition with each other for them. It was fun watching the blackbirds cramming as many worms into their beaks as they could. I put them out during nesting so I hope they helped a few baby birds to survive. They are expensive so I put a one pot out every morning but couldn't afford any more, so back on to the dried worms.
