Not quite what I ordered ie. I wanted the cage as in the picture but not the cone-shaped feeder. Am in process of inserting a thin wooden floor to the feeder and will hang it on a single string from a high branch and hope it will fool squirrels, mice and rats and afford ground feeding birds a safe feeding site. At present our clever squirrels can reach and unhook/unfasten all our 'squirrel proof feederss. Hope my adjusted design will be effective!

you have to unscrew the feeder underneath to take it out to clean it and the feeder gets food stuck in the bottom and you can't get it out when cleaning. I had to put the bottom metal pole in a vice to pull it out so I could pull the bottom off to clean it properly. the opening at the top is very small so can't easily put suet balls in. wish I hadn't bought it as expensive. I have just looked at website and can't see it for sale on there anymore.

Feeder is strong & sturdy. Purchased to give the small birds in my garden a chance to get some food before the bigger birds have it all. My only disappointment is that the wood pigeons can still poke their heads through the gaps & reach all the seed! Maybe the inner seed holder could be rotated slightly so the feeders aren’t opposite the entrance holes?

Ideal safe feeder that allows us to observe birds throughout the day.

set up high on a wall beyond the squirrel menace, small birds appear to have to learn to gain entry but i trust it to keep out the larger birds, especially parakeets.
