This does need careful assembling as it twice fell off spreading all the seed on the gravel below. Once properly clicked in place it's fine and the birds do enjoy feeding from the seed that collects in it.

Does the job. Really impressed with the big easy seed feeder overall. This just finishes it off nicely hardly any waste on the ground. Lifetime guarantee so well worth the money.

Does the job and is big enough to catch most of the food that the starlings toss about the place. The sparrows clear up any leftovers so nothing is left in the tray.

Bought this together with feeder to try and stop seed falling on the ground. However now there are no birds visiting at all, whereas before they were queueing up to feed. I left it up for weeks before reverting to previous model and the birds then returned within a few hours. Regard the trays as a waste of money. Tray did stop wastage but for all the wrong reasons. Very disappointed as it seemed a good idea at the time of ordering.

It does take a while for birds to become used to a new feeder, even a couple of months or more. Hanging your new feeder alongside the old one will encourage use. Seed trays are good for collecting wastage, but are great landing spots for larger birds that might scare the smaller ones away.

Cannot recommend this product. The design is such that the tray puts wait on the base of the feeder. When combined with the weight of seed in the six port feeder, the added weight of a squirrel was all it took to remove the base and deposit the seed contents on to the lawn, much to the squirrels delight.
