“Again the only fault I have with them is that for cycling trousers they are too low at the back. I have to tuck my vest into them to avoid the unpleasant and unsightly gap at the back when cycling! Otherwsie super comfy and great for cycling with extra space at the knees.”
“I'm probably writing this a little early, prompted by the email, as I haven't actually worn them in the rain yet.
But notwithstanding not being able to vouch for their performance in the wet, I can say they withstood fog perfectly well! To be honest, I've worn them more off the bike than on and I love them - they are super comfy, the fit is good and they look good.
Observations, however, would be that it is stated that they are higher at the back - I haven't noticed that especially (unless my fat bum is pulling them down!) so they could do with being a little higher.
They attract fluff, so if like me you have a white cat and a white wool rug, don't buy the black!
But the only real negative point I have is the placement of the reflective chain link inside the lower back calf. It's quite high up and to have it showing means I would need to have 4 - 5 inches of leg exposed to the elements. Given that most of us don't really care if it looks like we have bike clothes on, why not just leave it on the outside? If they are concerned, perhaps put a flap over it stuck down with Velcro or a popper matching the pocket buttons that can be opened and popped back to reveal the reflective bit. On both legs would be good too.
But I really love these and feel comfy in them on an off the bike. I'd definitely recommend someone to buy them. I'll come back when I have worn them in the rain! I've worn them to watch my nephew playing footy and I was as warm as toast in them.
VeloVixen Says: thanks so much for such a fulsome review, Emma Tilston (good name, no need to change it!). Really constructive comments that we will pass on to Velocity, but delighted to know they're doing you proud overall. x”
