Love the minimal yet well situated slots of padding, love the fit of it on my middle aged pear shaped body, and the elastic bands on both waist and legs are just perfect. Nothing to complain about at all

Very good purchase. Can wear normal jeans and trouser over it and very comfortable. Save me buying multiple motorcycle jeans.

botex may well be the originators of the armoured underwear genre (ignoring the ancient cricket box), but not the refiners. that title goes to pando moto (more of them imminently in their own review). even though these long johns are bowtex's mk2 iteration, the general style is something befitting albert steptoe, more akin to 1950s war dept surplus than a modern hightech garment. carefully checking the UR size guide and reading the customer reviews, being a 36" waist (actual size, even if I adamantly squeeze into a labeled jeans size of 34") I opted for the XXL. alas waaay too big even with my ex-rugby/ex-rowing thighs, 6' 3" stature and croissants-with-my-coffee tum. and bizarrely very loose at the ankles. is it too much to expect that the manufacturer supplies a drawing with measurements - including hight of knee protector pockets? ignoring the misjudged sizing for a moment, the choice of materials with minimal stretch means when you are sliding down the road on your arse, the long johns are not going to be holding themselves or your protectors securely in place. many punters comments about super high waist on these, that's one feature I did like keeping the back snug. immediately returned to UR before they even ventured out of my living room. extensive further research all pointed to the albeit more expensive pando moto skin, which I've just ordered from UR and seems to be a far more suitable for the job (and far too feline for grumpy albert).

Not the most flattering of items but the protection they provide seems good.

I bought these along with the pando moto leggings to try as a comparison. The pando moto were the better fit and more comfortable so I sent the bowtex back.
