“These are a superb fit, really similar to the 401 Levi's. Modern looking, with a good amount of stretch in them. I do find that they can let quite a bit of wind up the leg, which isn't ideal on a colder day but perfect during summer. That's the price to pay for the wider, more fashionable leg though. The quality of them from start to finish is great and I feel super safe in them.”

“These are a nice pair of riding jeans and probably about as close as you'll get to a casual pair. The fit is pretty good. They do come up slightly bigger than a normal pair but not by much I found. I'm usually a 34 inch waist with fairly thick legs. I tried both the slim and regular version of these in a 32 and both were too tight. I also tried a 33 in both versions and settled on the regular fit; the Taylor. The slim fit were just too tight on the legs. Length wise I stuck with a 32 which are a bit long for casual use but ideal when sat on the bike with low cut boots. Being only a single layer, they are a lot cooler to wear than my other lined pair which is what I want in the summer months. Padding on the hips and knees seems reasonable and the ability to alter the location of the knee pads is handy.”

“Great jeans, Just what I was looking for, ordered the original first but didn’t want lined jeans do changed them for the Taylor. Just what I was looking for but the fit is different from the original. UR size chart is so helpful”

“I followed the measurement instructions, against my normal Levi’s but when they arrived they have a lot of stretch in the waist so were too big. Also the bottoms are wider than normal jeans. I returned and ordered the smaller waist in the slim fit version. They fit perfectly. Quality is very good, delivery a Was good and return and exchange was straight forward. Definitely go for the next size down waist.”

“First time I'd bought John Doe jeans and I think I've hit the jackpot first time. They feel great on and look really good, a lot comfier than my previous lined jeans and I'm sure that will aid cooling during the summer too. With the armour out you'd be hard pushed to say these were protective jeans. I read a review that the jeans were slightly larger than other jeans in the line up. So I went in for a size smaller, as I'm between sizes, and they fit perfectly.”

“These jeans look, feel and fit similar to the Levi 501 jeans I normally wear. I ordered a waist size one inch down from the 501s and the fit was spot on. Bought in anticipation of a warm 2023.”

“Wore it 3 days straight. Literally, On the bike, hike and in the sleeping bag (damn you cheap sleeping bag letting me down). Super comfortable and great fit. Luckily can't comment on the protective aspect yet.”
