“No matter how ventilated your bike jacket is, it can’t touch a riding shirt. Typical Merlin production in this one, two summers of wear & still looks good. Updated the armour with D3O from UR. Get ready to be judged for riding in Just A Shirt, while protected and sweat free. If you’re in the UK, take a rain jacket too and your sorted whatever the British summer throws at you. Will be key kit for an upcoming LEJOG trip in July. Summer gloves & one of these with the cuffs rolled is just the best.”

“As always Urban Rider got the goods delivered quickly and in perfect order. Being a cruiser motorcyclist I favour a more casual/relaxed style of rider apparel. In the Axe shirt Merlin offer an exceptional bargain in terms of protection, style and price. If you're used to wearing padded work shirts you'll be right at home with the Axe which tends to come up a little large - but NOT baggy. This is what you want in a garment where you need freedom of movement. I can't vouch for the protection claims made for the AXE based on personal experience (and hopefully will never be able to) but I doubt UR would sell or promote anything that isn't up to the claims made for it. Out on a ride on a chilly December day the Axe will keep you comfortable at speeds up to 40 mph with just a T-shirt and light fleece top underneath. In warm/hot weather the Axe would be comfortable with just a T-shirt underneath as long as you were on the move. Overall I'm very happy and have bought two of the blue/black and red/black variants.”

“Ordered the size down from usual and fits perfectly, quality is perfect, not too warm and style wise looks like a regular shirt but with decent protection! UR again flawless service very happy customer, will be back soon!”

“Very pleased. Looks great, with decent shoulder and elbow protection but the back armor deffo needed replacing as the website suggested. The size guide was spot on and makes a perfect summer ride jacket. Packaging was secure and was promptly delivered”

“Accurate sizing and Impressive that has full rated lining plus armour on elbows etc. Better spec than other shirt/jackets that cost twice as much. Will fit back armour in available pocket. Just the job for summer pub rides if we are allowed to. Would recommend.”
