“The quality is pretty good (I’m yet to see safety ratings for these) padding seems very thick and supportive, and the colour options are amazing! I opted for Yukon gold but nearly bought seaweed as well. It’s a good 70s approximation looks wise. Size wise it’s not as compact a helmet as the originals that this is based on but that doesn’t detract from the style of it. Functionally it’s fine- double D ring is always a better locking mechanism; the visor has a ratchet opening which provides 3 locking positions and it seems straight forward to swap out visors if you want something more colourful. Speaking of the visor. Sadly a lack of seal round the visor means air does leak inside when you’re riding but it’s not a deal breaker. I may or may not utilise the cavity for a Bluetooth ear peace as I find the idea dangerous but it’s good to know it’s there! Overall sound proofing is pretty good but I’m yet to test fully. Buying through the website was easy and the price was stupid cheap! (Bought during a sale). I had been lucky enough to try a helmet on in between lockdowns so knew I had to size up for a good fit but the info online helped too. If you’re reading this then you’re looking for advice like I was. Ultimately- I ride a lambretta so I’m more after a vintage look while riding relatively slowly (it’s a 150cc machine what do you expect!) for something more style and some substance then this is a good option for the price. But so check out safety rating comparisons for cafe racer helmets before you decide. Just for my peace of mind I won’t Chuck my old Shoei out until this has proven itself. But do we ever bin our old lids??”
