“As advertised - A good way to ride protected while wearing "civilian" pants. With most pants, armor is barely apparent underneath. But... pockets for armor are slightly smaller than the actual armor pads, so they don't rest perfectly flat against the body. Not uncomfortable, but an odd sensation. second, an issue with me not the product: it would appear that I am between sizes. Width is good, but length of legs less so. Will likely take to have altered.”

“My first pair of protective riding trousers were an original pair of Bowtex standard leggings. I figured, I already have jeans, if I buy a pair of riding jeans then I have to stick to one colour of jeans every time I ride. So the leggings were a no brainer for me. This way I could wear whatever I want. I wore them for over a year before I caved and finally got a dedicated pair of riding jeans. They were a nice bit of kit but they had a couple issues. I bought them in small, and as far as fitting my waist goes, they were ok, maybe even a little too big, but they were so snug and unyielding on my thighs that I couldn't really pull them all the way up. It actually limited my ability to flat foot my bike. They were also a nightmare to get off at times. I don't think I really wore them again after getting my riding jeans. Three pairs of riding jeans later, I saw Bowtex release a new pair claiming improved fit. Well, I can say it's not just a claim, they fit like a pair of leggings actually should. They're snug all over and have a very good amount of stretch. The included armour is very low profile considering it's CE2 armour. I have noticed that sometimes if I'm walking a lot wearing them, the knee armour may drop a little, but I've realised that a trick that works for me is to ensure that the waistband of the leggings rises above your belt to ensure that it holds the leggings up a little better. They're not going to replace my riding jeans, but they allow me to wear more of my regular wardrobe on the bike while still being protected, and if the original pair were more like these, I think I would have held off a lot longer on buying riding jeans in the first place.”

“Comfy, and give me the ability to wear a larger variety of trousers and jeans yet remain safe. Size Medium come up a fraction big on me.”

“Fells substantial and you can wear your normal jeans, in my case unfortunately I left it too late to order and had a size L, the previous model I had was M and it was too small for me I am 32/33 , I didn’t return it and the size L is too big in reality, I could have been ok with M, but it is a good piece of alternative”
