“I had a problem with the 300w bulbs. After 1 month, the first fused. The 2nd exploded showering my wife with splinters from the glass shield over the bulb! It had only been used for a week, and it happened after being switched on for 20 mins. Universal Lighting have been very supportive, advising a possible Electrical Surge caused the problem, suggesting I use 160w fused bulb and I am now using Anti-surge extension lead. So far after one week, the bulb is working and is still bright enough. We like the lamp itself, but someone should have worked out the science between the bulb and electricity. I'm off to Crompton now....”
