“I think it is important that if you purchase this light fitting that you realise that even in moderately light rain the light will come on. I fitted two lights on two elevations of my bungalow. One facing South the other East. When raining the light that was set to stay on after movement was detected was set to the lowest setting, the light went on and off continually when raining. The other light set to stay on at 30 secs after movement detected, stayed on continually during the rain. This demonstrates to me that the microwave sensor is too sensitive to rain if you only want to detect the movement of an animal or person. The issue of the microwave sensitivity in rain was not clear in the details provided of these lights when I ordered these two so please be aware as I've had to remove mine after less than a week of use and now sit unusable. I only found out after enquiring after the issue and was told about the sensitivity in rain. Please don't waste your money if this would be an issue to you. Otherwise the lights themselves are good quality and provide a great light if coming on in the rain is not a problem to you. I have since purchased two alternative lights. For me it's Five stars for quality and brilliance of light BUT one star for functionality in the rain hence Three Stars overall.”

Hello John, Thank you for your candid review for the Lucca microwave sensor LED bulkheads. Microwave sensors have a comparitively high level of sensitivity and despite the benefits of using this type of sensor, they may be triggered by heavy rainfall unlike passive infra red (PIR) sensors. You mention that they trigger in moderately light rain which is uncommon and we will take this up with our supplier. “I bought these lights to replace some existing PIR fittings which had deteriorated plus being inconsistent in their performance. These units give plenty of light, won’t rust and the microwave sensor is invisible but so controllable.”

“Excellent customer service! The company called me personally to let me know that my order was being processed. My electrician came out and fitted it yesterday (14/12) and the light is amazing! I have had to warn my family that, like the sun, it should not be looked at directly as it is so bright! Very pleased overall :-)”
