“Lovely piece of wood. Nice finish. Happy with the way it looks. The the keyhole fixings are a little fiddly to get on especially as there are three of them. Also a little worried about how secure the screws are. After removing beam to tap screws as per levelling instructions one of the raw plugs was little way out of the wall??? I'm sure it'll be fine with the suggested grab adhesive on final fitting though.”

Hello Thanks you for the review, The fixings are capable of holding the beams with ease providing they are fixed into a solid wall and the holes are drilled the correct size and should provide a secure fit. We are glad you are happy with the finish of the wood.

“Love the look of the beam but the grey colour was too pale compared to the internet site. So I’m having to stain it darker myself which is disappointing. The company was friendly and prompt when dealing with this issue and sent stain and wax through the post.”

Hello Michelle, I'm sorry to hear that the pale grey was paler than you expected. As the natural colour of the wood shows through the finish with it being a stain rather than a paint, the colour fo the beam can vary depending on the natural colours in the oak. Monitors/ screens can also affect how the colour can be perceived however it is usually pretty close to the colours on the swatches. I'm pleased we were able to help out and get some more stain sent to you to help darken the beam further for you.
