“Would have given top marks but for a very minor criticism that the finish hasn’t penetrated right into the shakes leaving it bare and much lighter inside! Only visible on close inspection. Overall very satisfied with our rustic beam, looks great fitted (see photo)”

Hello Andrew, Thank you for the review and photo. It looks stunning on your wall. I believe the shakes you are referring too are much lighter in colour and can stand out however this is a very sought after characteristic of oak beams. The stain will often take differently to the features as it's not a paint so shows the natural colour of the wood underneath.
