Hello, Thanks for the review. We are pleased you think the shelves are very well made. I'm sorry they were not quite as rustic as expected. We try to be as transparent as possible with the product we are selling including many photos of each product as examples. The shelves you ordered were kiln dried so don't include cracks. They are simply brushed with a slight textured edge. We do however have air dried shelves which would look more rustic as these can feature cracks like the beam can.
