“We bought this when on offer at under £40 back in early December 2019... and have left the review till now so that we could give a fair assessment.
First off, the colour (almond) is lovely and goes well with our predominantly cream kitchen - though I have to say it does feel somewhat less sturdy than our Brabantia bin in the utility room - also, it doesn't have a plastic inner bin like the Brabantia does.
However, we bought this for the "touchless" funcionality more than anything else - and I have to say, so far, it has delivered that in spades. Only once in the 4 months have we had to change the batteries, and even then it "nearly" worked but just couldn't get the lid fully open. Our Son's (non Tower) version went wonky very quickly, and I thought "here we go, another of these that packs in after a few months" - but no, after changing batteries, away it went again. The only thing I would change is the amount of time the lid stays open - as sometimes we get caught by it closing a bit quickly for us.
Consumables wise, we only use the really cheap "40 or more black bags for a quid" type, and they do the job easily.
Not sure it's worth the full Tower list price, but for what we paid, it is a really good sensor bin and we are generally very please with it.
