“Liquid satin. The only tights material I've felt that come close are the Uppsala from CdR. But Wolford's Satin de Luxe are a little thinner and slightly more sheer, and more stretchy. In fact, I avoided getting them for years because the highest size is "L"... and I figured they wouldn't fit. I took a chance and was immensely surprised that they do fit, and comfortably (not overstretched). Wolford made the Satin de Luxe in many other colors over the years: Black, Cloud, Cranberry, Pink, Rust, Red, Bordeaux, Lion (metallic beige?), Pewter, California (gold), Mocca, Sapphire, Classic Blue... maybe others? Right now, there's only black. I'm hoping Wolford brings back some color!”

“I'd put off buying the Satin de Luxe for may years, because they cap off the sizing at large. No extra-large. I wrote to Wolford a number of times, asking for them to include an XL... and was ignored. So finally I took a chance and tried a pair. Well, they actually fit! The elastane is rather high on these at 19%. That does NOT bode well for durability. Elastane is much weaker than nylon. As a result, the Satin de Luxe is snag prone. Not runs/holes, but there will be blemishes if you're not careful. The trade-off? Wow... it's like liquid satin velvet smoothed all across your body from waist to toes. I can't describe the feeling accurately. CdR Uppsala has a similar feel, but Wolford is a step above. They are the most sensual feeling tights I've ever felt. If you love tights, get a pair of these to treat yourself.”
