“These are my fourth pair of Thomas Birds. I have nothing but great things to say about this company so far. Quality, style and appearance have been exactly what I wanted. I want to provide some of my experience with the fit which has been the only struggle for me, not any fault to this company but because I am here in the States I do not have the opportunity to try on the different sizes to get the right fit on the first try. Maybe my experience can help others choose their correct size. I wear a size 8.5 in US sneakers/trainers and my left foot is a little smaller than my right which doesn't help with choosing the right size for me. So this is what I have decided to go with moving forward with my next purchases. In my first pair of Hamptons, I ordered 40s but I have a lot of heal slip so with this most recent pair of Hamptons I chose 39s which at first felt a little snug but once I put on thinner socks and walked in them for a little bit they felt good and it made me regret not returning the first pair for the same size. My second pair was the Hamilton Chukka. I ordered a 40 but when I received them and tried them on they were a little snug on the outside, mainly on my little toe of my right foot (the bigger of my two feet). Because of this, I decided to send them back in exchange for a size 41. The more I wear the size 41s the more I wish I decided to keep the 40s and allow them to break in and stretch a little in order to naturally get the fit right. My third pair was the Eastwood Chelsea. I ordered 40s and love them. And my latest order, as mentioned above was another Hampton which are 39s. This is my advice and my plan for my future purchases (I'm hoping to get a pair of Bensons), there is a substantial difference in actual/physical size from one size to the next so for slip-on shoes I will get 39s and for boots and shoes with laces I will get 40s. I hope this helps if help is needed.”
