“Sponges appear to meet the sales description. Only used for a few weeks and not showing signs of wear. Useful as a sponge and as a scourer. Easy to keep clean. Appeals to my ‘greener’ concerns. My only criticism is that they are not as flexible as my usual sponge, which makes cleaning (e.g. a mug) tricky - but not impossible.”
Hello David, really delighted that you like our products. The sponge scourers are dried out to be transported. When you start to use them, just massage some washing-up liquid with water. The more you use them, the more malleable they will become. But to speed this process up, just pop them in the washing machine once or twice.
“I was sceptical at first but you have completely changed my mind. I’m absolutely LOVING these sponges. They are way better than the plastic ones. So glad I took the plunge!”
“You might not want to print my review as I went rogue and used your lovely kitchen sponge scourer in the shower. My legs have never felt smoother. (No photos!)”
“I am still trialling these, but don't think they're going to work for me. The loofah side is stiffer and less yielding than the cellulose sponge side, so is difficult to bend and squeeze the scourer into the contours of mugs bowls and cutlery and gain the friction needed to scrub. Even on flatter surfaces there doesn't seem to be sufficient friction, maybe because it's an uncomfortable hold for me.
When not in use, it's not easy to fully squeeze out the water remaining, leaving sogginess.
I do applaud the plastic-free ideal, and will check out other Seep products in hopes of an alternative item.”
Thank you for looking into our products and trying them. They do feel very different to a plastic sponge that we have all been used to. They will soften with time, but to speed this up, just pop them in the washing machine. You might like our pop-up sponges :-)
