“We inherited a length of battered, stained old oak work surface when we moved into our new home. We had cleaned up and repainted the kitchen and needed a slim table to sit in the middle. We thought the oak would work well as a table top so we cut it down to size, belt sanded it and sealed it with transparent oil to bring the wood back to its natural beauty. It's a thick piece, so needed chunky set of legs to hold its weight and to balance it visually. The box hairpins work perfectly on both counts and are superb quality. They just look so cool and make our new table look like a design classic. We are now planning to create two dining stools to go with it, with the smaller box hairpin legs.
