We want to lodge a formal complaint regarding our recent order of 37kg of Lychee puree (£413.62), in which The Drinks Basket sent the wrong products and have since made it unnecessarily difficult to return them. Instead of the Lychee ordered, the Drinks Basket sent 20kg of Strawberry Purée - a completely different and lower-value product. Rather than correcting their mistake, the staff Vimal have have insisted we transport these 20kg+ heavy, incorrect goods to a local post office - something we cannot and will not do. We have no vehicle and will not be booking transport to fix a mistake that was entirely theirs. The weight and volume make this an unreasonable request by any measure. Their own policy for “Incorrect Products or Lost Items” states: "If you have received an incorrect item(s) in your order please contact us at info@thedrinksbasket.com within 14 days from receiving the delivery and we will do everything to assist..." We contacted them within 24 hours, yet instead of “doing everything to assist,” they are imposing impractical return conditions that effectively block us from getting our refund. This behaviour strongly suggests an unfair trading practice: sending incorrect items, then creating unnecessary barriers to returning them, thereby retaining payment for undelivered goods. The Drinks Basket is being unreasonable and also did not deliver what customer purchased and to bear the cost and responsibility of correcting their own errors. They refused to arrange collection of the incorrect items from the delivery address. No refund of £413.62 for the products ordered and paid for but never received. This is beyond frustrating, and we are extremely disappointed in The Drinks Basket. We would strongly advise others to avoid this company.
