“Reminds my husband of going out on the Morecambe Bay shrimp trawler of Benny Woodhouse when he was a little boy - and then his mum picking the shrimps (like many other ladies in the street). But his mum then made a shrimp sandwich for him - shrimps warmed through with a knob of butter and white pepper and then piled into thinly sliced brown bread and butter (piled they really were - about the equivalent of three of your little pots - well probably four!) They were 'cooked' on board the trawler as soon as caught. My husband's father was a cabinet maker at Waring and Gillows in Lancaster but helped repair his friend's trawlers.”
