“For me, a slight improvement on the fantastic Speedgoat 5, but this will be a personal choice. I have reasonably narrow feet and with the Speedgoat I get a bit of heel slip and sideways movement on really steep or uneven terrain. The Mafate are a bit more rugged and seem to have a bit more structure, and no more heel movement for me. Having been a loyal On Cloudventure runner for several years I fell out of love with them when they introduced version 3, which was in my view a big backwards step. Having tried the Mofate on a couple of representative runs I think I may have found my new trail shoe.”
