“I was insured with devvitt, which was really easy to start (as soon as you pay the initial payment-fee). I had the bad luck that my motorcycle was stolen (something sadly and surprisingly normal in London).
My insurance was with theft covered but instead proceed as I suposed a fair company would do (study the facts, images from a cctv and keys that I sent, etc), 4th Dimension and ERS (through Devitt) contacted me telling without almost information (never written) that my insurance was (all of a sudden) voided because I didn't inform to 4th Dimension of something (they didn't explain to me in detail what) about something when I was with another insurer 9 MONTHS BEFORE I STARTED WITH DEVITT!! A nonsense. Just an excuse to not pay nothing to me.
The conclusion is: they made me pay for my insurance with theft but they won't never pay to me my motorcycle stolen (without a logical reason).
The ADVICE: AVOID as far as possible DEVITT and 4TH DIMENSION”
“I was disappointed that Devitt cancelled my insurance, and had to pay £50 fee. My bike was not registered and had to send multiple documents to the DVLA to do so. Problems with documentation meant that I exceeded the period and they cancelled. This was not a fault of mine.”
“After taking out this policy for approx 6 weeks, i had to transfer or cancel policy due to bike sale, the prices i was quoted for the new bike were totally outrageous...the bike was half the risk of the insured one. i cancelled the policy and the direct debit after speaking with your advisor. Now i have recieved a demand for £211 for settlement of this account, also saying it will be taken from my account without my authorisation...unacceptable ! As this is my first venture into motorbike ownership for a number of years, i am disgusted with these charges. Itook the insurance out with yourselves thinking that a reputable company would be ok, proved to be the opposite. I would like the problem of removing money from my account stopped, of course i expect a charge for this cancellation but not a total rip off....disgusted.”
