“These are fantastic speakers and worth double the price paid (bear in mind you do not require an amplifier). There is clearly a huge benefit to having individual amplifiers for each driver. No amount of Bi-wiring regular speakers can match. However, 2 important points: they need time running in. They sound quite poor for the first 20-30 hours with little decent bass and a harsh treble. Persevere, and the bass gains weight and control and the treble becomes sweet and extended. The second point is that if you are streaming from a phone it benefits from using Aptx, such as a Samsung, with my Aptx (accidentally) switched off I immediately noticed a loss in frequency extention both ends. They sounded good, I just knew that I heard them sound better, so checked the settings and found Aptx was off. Finally, (I know I said 2 things) placement is important. I keep mine about 80-100cm from the wall. They loose a bit of deep bass but everything else tightens up. I have bought many hi-fi separates from the 1980's onward (from makes such as Pioneer, mission, Castle etc.). These Edifier surpass any separate combinations that I have had. Buy with confidence.”
