Only ever used cross trainers at the gym so I was surprised at what this buys you for the money. doesn't feel like a gym machine but it works, is quiet and is very resonsably priced. Good for the money. Lots of functions and very easy to use. Highly recommended for beginners.

Bought this to help with my early morning cardio before work. It's a lot more convenient than going to the gym! Very simple and easy to use so no complaints from me.

After deciding running is not doing my joints any good I decided to buy an elliptical trainer for home use. After numerous hours trawling the web I decided purchase the Proform 700 from Sweatband. I have never bought anything from them before but was pleased with the communication and delivery. It took about 2 hours to assemble, including carrying all the pieces up 2 flights of stairs first. I found the assembly quite straightforward but used my own spanners and screwdriver, and the included hex wrench. The machine seems quite sturdy but had to re-tighten a couple of bolts with use, as mentioned in other reviews. Mainly the centre bolt on the down tube which needed tightening several times but now seems to have settled down. I have checked a few times since but everything is still tight. Overall very pleased with the Proform. There are a variety of programmes which I have been rotating for variety, and with the option of increasing the resistance should cover everything I need. The control panel took me a while to get used to as the instructions aren't too clear but getting there slowly. Still not sure how to work the recovery button works though. Overall very pleased and good value for the price.

Superb machine for the money. I have used a lot of commercial units in gyms and I think lb for lb this is just as good considering the price. It's super quiet too I keep it upstairs and I can't hear it when the wife's on it! We both use it 3/4x a week to keep our activity levels up during the winter months as we are both retired now. Easy to construct and assemble bit like flat pack furniture. So yeah, overall couldn't be happier.

Thought long and hard about which one to buy - in the end this one won owing to the folding facility and overall features. Delivery was excellent, quick and well organised. Assembly requires a modicum of diy skills and some mechanical sympathy. You can do it single handed but having help would be ideal. You will need a 14mm ring spanner!! Folding up is easy - unfolding and locking is a little fiddly, especially on a carpeted floor. Likewise it's worth taking time to adjust the feet to ensure stability in use. I'm 86kg and 6ft 2'' and find the machine really good - given that I'd only ever used gym V Trainers before. The key is to regularly tighten the fixings as they will work loose, especially as they bed in. Overall, very pleased so far - especially with the range of exercise profiles and ability to set up for 4 different users. Reccomended.

The Proform 700 was quite tricky to assemble, but once completed the result is a substantial and solid feeling cross trainer. I'm 6ft tall and find using the machine comfortable to use and am particularly pleased that the moving arms are tall enough to get a proper stretch. I'm making use of the machine every other day for interval training and find the resistance range good enough to do this. With its folding mechanism it's also quite space efficient - a very good cross trainer for the price!

Ive ordered the Proform 700 after reading user reviews of the product and am happy that I've made a good choice. When it comes to assembly, it took me 2 hours to build it up but the whole process is clearly explained in the manual. The 700 cross trainer gives us a good workout and offers a good variety on the console. I'd certainly recommend to anyone interested in buying a cross trainer.

I carried out a lot of research before selecting the Proform 700 as my requirements list was quite long (stride length, console functions etc). I'm finding the The 700 elliptical to be very smooth and the resistance levels on offer go high enough to really challenge me. I make use of the pre-set programmes and these are helping me to get good cadio workouts. It's great value for money and I'm really happy with the quality of this x-trainer.
