Painted from 1830 – 1835, this oil painting was created by J. M. W. Turner. As a technology that is still very much in its infancy, Infrared can be a little complicated to understand – especially when it is completely new to you. Traditional heaters work by filling up with hot water and then, in turn, make the air around them hot. This hot air will rise and drop when it has cooled which creates a cycle of heat named a convection current. When you pass through this, you will feel its heat. Our panels, on the other hand, will transmit heat by way of thermal radiation through Far Infrared waves – the same energy emitted by the Sun. These rays will bounce around the space and everywhere in the room. Each time they hit something, the object will absorb some of that heat and emit the leftovers back out for this process to continue.
