The 595x595 Foggy Peak NXT Gen Infrared Heating Panel 350W from Mirrorstone is a small but mighty panel. Sized at 595mm x 595mm x 22mm, it will reach surface temperatures between 75 - 95°C so we recommend mounting it onto a wall. Heating a concentrated area of 4-7m², it is made from solid FIR Coating and protected against splashes of water with an IP54 rating. Simply plug it into your 230v mains input for it to drink up the 350W it requires to emit heat. Finish with your choice of either a white, black or silver aluminium frame. What Is Infrared? The main difference between our heating panels and others is that they use Infrared rays to provide warmth. This one features is the sole reason for all the wonderful benefits of using IR panels. But what is Infrared? A type of electromagnetic radiation, Infrared is energy that travels through waves at the speed of light. IR exists as invisible radiant energy that we feel as heat. This was discovered by Sir William Herschel in 1800 within a simple experiment using a light, a prism and a thermometer. Do not be alarmed by the term ‘radiation’. Our panels give off the same Infrared radiation as the Sun. Just over 50% of the total energy emitted by the Sun is IR heat, with the rest being 40% visible light and 10% ultraviolet. The way in which Infrared works is simple. The waves emit from the panel and bounce around the space to hit into objects. With the Automatic Temperature Control, the panel will switch on and off to regulate a chosen temperature. Control what time you want the unit to turn on/off on weekends and weekdays using the 7-Day Timer. Use the Adaptive Start to have the panel switch on early and build up to a desired temperature for a chosen time. As a bonus feature, activate the Open Window Detection to have the panel turn off as soon as it detects a drop in temperature.
